Recursive Vortex Structures and the Wallstrom Compatibility of the NATND Level Cascade: Established Foundations and an Open Research Program

We examine whether the hierarchical "level model" (NATND) of the present author [27, 28] admits foundations compatible with the momentum-map account of the Wallstrom controversy for the hydrodynamic (Madelung) formulation of quantum mechanics recently given by Khesin and Modin [1] — who explicitly frame their result as resolving the controversy, against the more cautious backdrop of open technical questions surveyed by Reddiger and Poirier [2], including strong non-quantized solutions they construct in two dimensions. We show that the mechanism resolving Wallstrom’s objections — expressing the quantization condition as a geometricconsistency requirement on a momentum map, rather than an ad hoc postulate —extends level-by-level through the cascade only as long as the relevant structure group remains a genuine Lie group, and identify the precise algebraic obstruction (loss of associativity at the octonionic, ultramark level) at which this mechanism cannot be repeated verbatim. We independently identify, via the topological classification of line and point defects in ordered media, a topological manifestation of the same limitation, correlated with but logically distinct from the symplectic argument:the classification of parallelizable spheres and the Hopf invariant one theorem independently restrict the same dimensions. Finally, we describe — as an open research program rather than a closed result — three independent partial routes toward a rigorous formalization of the "vortices of vortices" mechanism proposed for the origin of the level cascade, together with the concrete obstructions each currently faces.Two appendices provide a self-contained, independently re-runnable computational verification of the discrete-RG bifurcation claims made for Route B (Appendix A for the Diamond toy model, Appendix B for the Fan topology), with full source code included.
